Astronomy on Tap Bristol is back with another set of talks at The Lansdown on Wednesday 11 November. Join for an exciting evening of astronomy talks, news and a quiz! Clouds and Hazes in Exoplanet Atmospheres The first talk will be from Ailsa Campbell, a 3rd-year physics PhD researcher at the University of Bristol on Clouds and Hazes in Exoplanet Atmospheres. For two decades, scientists have been able to probe the atmospheres of planets orbiting other stars ('exoplanets'). Clouds and hazes are prevalent in a diverse range of exoplanet atmospheres. Their formation and distribution are closely tied with what an atmosphere is made up of and the temperature structure. These aerosols can interfere with observation efforts and make it challenging to interpret an atmosphere! This talk will discuss how clouds and hazes can be studied, why this is...
