Our regular volunteering session with Lesnes Abbey Wood junior parkrun. 🏃♀️🏃♂️ Please request a role on the parkrun roster before you sign up for this task - scroll down 👇 to see the full instructions. Come and cheer on the young runners to get them fired up and charging around the 2km course. There are plenty of roles to choose from, including marshaling, barcode scanning, handing out finish tokens and tail walking. No prior experience needed and you don't need to be a runner. Just bring your best cheering, clapping and encouragement-giving skills! Why not grab a coffee afterwards at the Chestnuts kiosk in the park (bring a reusable cup if you have one 😊). For some double-deeding there's our woodland conservation mission at 10am helping the Friends of Lesnes Abbey and Woods in their work to maintain the woods. 📍 Meeting point Meet on the tarmac path that runs along the Abbey Road side of the park. The nearest postcode is DA17 5DL, and the What3Words location is: ///fork.such.trader. Your contact is the Run Director wearing a blue and white hi-vis jacket. There may not be a GoodGym Bexley leader at this task, but the parkrun organisers will make you feel very welcome. Look out for other GoodGymers and perhaps one of you can write short report and add photos of you at the task via the 'Mission Accomplished' email that will land in your inbox later in the day. 🙋♀️🙋♂️How to volunteer It looks a bit complicated at first but don't be put off, it's not tricky: If you don't already have a parkrun ID register for free at Check which roles still need filling here: Click on the role you're interested in to find out what's involved. Even if the roster looks full, the organisers are usually happy to have extra helpers so contact them anyway. Email lesnesabbeywoodsjuniors@parkrun.com using the template below to let them know the date and role that you want to volunteer for. They will reply to confirm that you've been added to the roster.
