Five friends. Five lives. Countless hopes. Patrick, Shiv, Rian, Oli and Conor grew up together. They played together, skipped school together, and dreamt of everything they'd do with their lives. Now they're thirty and those dreams haven't materialised quite how they imagined. Told through the alternating perspectives of its five protagonists, I See Buildings Fall Like Lightning is a story about friendship, place, loss, and loyalty. The latest film from acclaimed director Clio Barnard ( Ali & Ava , Dark River ), I See Buildings Fall Like Lightning won the Audience Award at Directors' Fortnight, Cannes Film Festival 2026, and is one of the most exciting and anticipated British films of the year.
